Collection: SART

A SART (Search and Rescue Transponder) helps rescuers locate a survival craft. A radar SART such as the Jotron Tron SART20 or Furuno SART-20 replies to X-band radar and appears as a line of dots on the rescuer's screen. An AIS-SART such as the McMurdo SmartFind S5A transmits its GPS position to every AIS receiver in range.

SOLAS ships must carry SARTs as part of their GMDSS equipment, and each unit needs a battery within its expiry date and the correct bracket and pole for deployment from a liferaft or lifeboat.

We stock SART battery replacement kits, extension poles, bulkhead and wall brackets, lanyards, tamper covers and storage cases for McMurdo, Kannad and Jotron transponders. Email sales@smartmarine.ee for help finding the right spare.
