Collection: PLB

A PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) is a small 406 MHz distress beacon carried by a person rather than fitted to the vessel. When activated it sends your GPS position to search and rescue through Cospas-Sarsat and transmits a 121.5 MHz homing signal. Models with Return Link Service (RLS), such as the McMurdo FastFind Return Link and Jotron Tron SA20, confirm that your alert has been received.

For crew working on deck, an AIS MOB device attached to a lifejacket alerts your own vessel and nearby ships directly on their AIS and DSC receivers, so the person in the water can be found quickly. We supply sMRT and McMurdo man-overboard devices for commercial and offshore crews.

We also stock PLB battery replacement kits, top caps, buoyancy pouches and lanyards. Add the product you need to your order and pay by card at checkout or by invoice. For help choosing beacons for your crew, email sales@smartmarine.ee.
