Collection: VDR/SVDR

A VDR (Voyage Data Recorder) is a ship's black box. It continuously records position, speed, heading, radar images, bridge audio and VHF communications into a protected capsule built to survive fire, impact and deep water. SOLAS requires a VDR on passenger ships and cargo ships of 3,000 GT and above, and an S-VDR on some older cargo ships.

Each VDR needs an annual performance test, and the underwater locator beacon (ULB) on the capsule needs a battery replacement at fixed intervals. We supply ULB batteries and replacement tools, float-free capsules, data export modules, remote control units and storage modules for Netwave, Danelec, SAL, Jotron and Furuno VDR systems.
