Collection: Radar

Marine radar detects other vessels, land, buoys and weather and is essential for collision avoidance in poor visibility. We supply radar systems from Furuno, including the FAR-2xx8 IMO radar series, and from Simrad, including HALO solid-state radar and the R5000 series for IMO CAT1 and CAT2 installations.

X-band radar gives sharp target detail and is the standard first radar on most vessels, while S-band radar performs better in heavy rain and sea clutter. Solid-state radars avoid magnetron replacement altogether.

For existing installations we stock radar magnetrons from Teledyne e2v and JRC, TR cells, duplexers, rotary joints, antenna motors and performance monitors. Send the radar model and serial number to sales@smartmarine.ee for the correct part.
